Common questions
How does the trial actually work?
Click "Start trial" to open a pre-filled email. Send it with your name and NinjaTrader version and we'll reply with a download link and activation instructions — usually within a few hours on market days. Your card isn't charged until day 8. Cancel any time before that and you won't be billed.
Does this require a separate data subscription?
No. The news feed, economic calendar, and COT data come from our own backend — no FMP, Bloomberg, or Refinitiv account needed. The Market Pulse tab is even simpler: it reads directly from your existing NinjaTrader bars and connection with no external data call.
Which NinjaTrader version does this support?
NinjaTrader 8 on Windows. NT7 is not supported. If you're unsure which build you have, go to Help → About in NinjaTrader — the version string is on that screen.
Can I use it on more than one machine?
One active device per subscription. If you move to a new machine, the sign-in flow handles device replacement automatically — you'll be prompted to confirm the swap, and the old device is deactivated.
Will it affect NinjaTrader performance or my strategies?
SquawkDesk runs as a NinjaTrader add-on in a background thread. It does not add indicators to charts, touch your strategies, or run any code inside the strategy execution path. The headline stream uses a persistent connection with a polling fallback — it does not open a new connection on every tick.
